Bio
Kirstin Bourne has over 20 years’ experience of working in schools in Australia and the UK.
After completing an English degree at Cambridge University, she qualified as a teacher at the Institute of Education (part of the University of London).
As an English and Literature teacher, Kirstin has worked in a range of schools in the UK and Australia, and taken on the roles of Faculty Head and Head of Curriculum and Assessment.
Kirstin started her consultancy, InformEducation, in 2015, and rebranded to Kirstin Bourne in 2023. She now works with a large number of Independent and Catholic Schools in Melbourne and across Victoria focusing on improving outcomes and performance for staff and students. Kirstin has also worked with Catholic Education Melbourne since 2017 to deliver an online teacher network of professional learning for VCE English teachers.
Kirstin’s areas of interest and expertise include: curriculum development and design; literacy and whole-school literacy initiatives; online learning and training, staff development and team building; coaching; improving student performance; collecting and using data effectively to track and predict student outcomes and effective integration of technologies into teaching and learning.
In her spare time, Kirstin enjoys spending time with her family, playing with a crazy Labrador called Henry, reading, Lego, making stuff, and travelling to Scandinavia.
